SHOOTING PRODUCER/DIRECTOR - CAMBRIDGE, UK
Hi, I'm Carl Homer. I'm the director of Cambridge TV Ltd and a shooting PD working on broadcast and online factual content.
I live in Cambridge and often work in London, but frequently shoot all over in the UK and around the world, working on shows like BBC Click / Tech Now, Grand Designs, Blue Peter, Sky Movies Specials, Portrait Artist of the Year, CBBC Extra… as well as clients like the University of Cambridge, the NHS, Royal Shakespeare Company and many others.
I also have lots of sound recording experience and own a large range of factual/doc shooting camera, lighting and audio kit.
Apart from projects for my production company, I enjoy work as a freelance shooting director or lighting cameraman on magazine shows and documentaries. I started in this industry as a location sound recordist, I still have up-to-date kit and love the odd day doing sound, too!
I started work as a musician during my twenties. In my early TV & film career, I worked on drama features and shorts as a production sound mixer, 1st AD and producer.
When my daughter was born, I switched to TV and online content as a lighting cameraman, soundie or self-shooting director, working freelance for major broadcasters and many production companies. I founded Cambridge TV in 2014, first as a local TV channel and then as a production company.
